At Albert Camus School in Agde, solidarity and civic engagement are more than just words, even for the youngest students. Under the guidance of Madame Arrufat, a first-grade (CP) teacher, the children eagerly got involved—both figuratively and literally—by rolling up their sleeves.
They organized crêpe sales, taking part in everything from preparing the batter to selling the treats to families and local residents. The students were fully engaged in every step of the project.
These moments, both festive and educational, allowed the children to discover the value of teamwork, sharing, and commitment to a humanitarian cause. They also developed practical and social skills, while realizing that even at a young age, they could help improve the lives of other children around the world.
The project wouldn’t have been complete without the valuable support of Johanna, a future climber committed to the association, who came to lend a hand and inspire the students with her involvement.
Thanks to the children’s enthusiasm and the generosity of their families, the crêpe sales were a great success, raising important funds that will be entirely donated to the construction of a maternity clinic.
This beautiful project—both solidary and educational—perfectly reflects the values upheld by the educational team at Albert Camus School, and especially by Madame Arrufat, whose initiative brought together an entire class around a meaningful and impactful goal.
