The “Rice Bowl” initiative, recently organized at Notre-Dame School in Agde, was much more than a simple charity event — it was a true demonstration of solidarity embraced by the entire educational community.
The principle behind this initiative is simple, yet deeply meaningful: replace a regular canteen meal with a bowl of plain rice, symbolizing voluntary simplicity, and donate the savings to a charitable cause. This year, our association, Earth Citizen Club, had the honor of being chosen as the beneficiary of this beautiful gesture.
Thanks to the leadership of Mrs. Dubary, the school principal, students, teachers, and the entire educational team came together with generosity and conviction. During the week of the initiative, we had the pleasure of meeting the students to present our project: climbing Mount Kilimanjaro to raise funds for the construction of a maternity ward in Kombo, Tanzania.
Beyond the symbolic gesture, a powerful message was shared: one of commitment, mutual aid, and the belief that every action — no matter how small — matters. Because yes, every gesture counts, and solidarity starts with concrete choices.
Thanks to this initiative, a meaningful donation will now help move our humanitarian project forward. Every euro raised will directly support a youth-driven initiative, in the very spirit of this day.
On behalf of the entire Earth Citizen Club team, we send a huge THANK YOU to Notre-Dame School, to Mrs. Dubary, and to all the students for their generosity, attention, and commitment. You’ve given us more than support — you’ve given us a powerful wave of hope.
