In March 2027, 7 walkers, 100 km, one mission: supporting the rehabilitation of Ritham School in Sri Lanka

In March 2027, seven of us will take on a sporting and charitable challenge in the heart of Sri Lanka: hiking seven stages of the famous Pekoe Trail in just five days — nearly 100 kilometers through mountains, tea plantations, and remote villages.

But beyond this human adventure lies an essential mission: raising funds to rehabilitate the small Ritham School located in Hali Ela.

A lively school… in very difficult conditions

This small school consists of a single classroom welcoming 17 children aged between 4 and 6 years old. Despite the dedication of the teachers and the energy of the children, the learning conditions are currently extremely challenging.

The toilets are located directly inside the classroom, creating serious hygiene and comfort issues on a daily basis. During heavy rains — which are frequent in the region — the classroom is regularly flooded, disrupting lessons and affecting the entire functioning of the school.

Faced with this situation, we decided to take concrete action.

A sustainable and meaningful project

Our goal is simple: to provide these children with a healthier, safer, and more suitable learning environment.

To achieve this, we need to raise €7,200 to fund:

  • a complete roof renovation,

  • wall reinforcement,

  • new floor tiling,

  • repainting the building,

  • creating child-friendly sanitation facilities,

  • installing a 1,000-liter water tank.

Every contribution will help sustainably improve the daily lives of these young students.

An adventure carried out with The Pekoe Trail Organisation

This project is being developed in collaboration with The Pekoe Trail Organisation (TPTO), an organization committed to the management, protection, and development of this Sri Lankan national heritage trail.

Through this partnership, we aim to ensure that our initiative follows a responsible, local, and sustainable approach, working closely with local stakeholders.

How can you help?

There are several ways to support this project:

  • Make a donation

We have launched a fundraising campaign to finance the rehabilitation work of the school.

Donations are tax-deductible for both individuals and companies.

The fundraising page is available here ❤️

  • Buy the Sri Lanka edition T-shirt

We are also offering a special Sri Lanka edition T-shirt for €30 (shipping included).

Every purchase directly contributes to funding the project.

Walking for them

In March 2027, every kilometer we walk will have meaning.

These 100 kilometers will not only be a sporting challenge, they will represent a concrete step toward giving 17 children better conditions to learn, grow, and build their future.

Thank you to everyone who chooses to walk alongside us, near or far.
