Our project aims to provide concrete support to a pre-school located close to Stage 9 of The Pekoe Trail, in the Bogawanthalawa Tea Valley at Theresia Estate, under Madulsima Plantation PLC. The estate is home to approximately 500 families, with Bogawanthalawa being the nearest town.

The pre-school currently has 16 registered children and needs assistance to create a safe, comfortable and pleasant environment in which they can learn and develop.

​

The project aims to renovate the centre to provide a healthy environment adapted to the needs of the children and staff.

The main planned works include:

• Installing a water supply and wastewater drainage system;

• Building a sanitary block (toilets and washing area);

• Repairing and rehabilitating the floors;

• Interior and exterior painting;

• Strengthening and restoring the interior and exterior walls to improve the safety, durability and appearance of the building.

 

These improvements will enhance the school’s welcoming, hygiene and safety conditions, while creating a setting that supports the development and well-being of young children.

This project is carried out in collaboration with The Pekoe Trail Organisation (TPTO), an independent local non-profit organization committed to managing, protecting, and developing this national heritage.

Through this partnership, we ensure that our actions are part of a responsible approach, in close cooperation with local stakeholders.
